Dan Gyllenskog VRC

Dan Gyllenskog Veterans Resource Center (VRC)

Dan Gyllenskog (1948 - 2014), a Smithfield resident, was a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient who served tirelessly in Cache Valley helping other Veterans. Dan believed that no Veteran should be left behind. His thought was to give his all while serving those who have served. He loved helping others who were less fortunate than himself and loved his family and his friends. Dan has passed, but his efforts, love and passion will not be forgotten and will continue. In honor of Dan, the Center has been called the Dan Gyllenskog Veterans Resource Center.

The Dan Gyllenskog Veterans Resource Center provides Veterans and their dependents services, benefits and programs in partnership with local and state agencies and provides access to the VA and State VA VSO services. Veterans, Service members and their dependents can meet other veterans, find a sense of purpose, and decompress in a family environment.

The center provides a home away from home environment to meet other Veterans and their families while receiving services, benefits and resources. We have a fully accessible kitchen and dining area that provides complimentary coffee, beverages and healthy snacks and a full living space where you can relax and enjoy conversation or just be you. The center provides free wireless access points to those serving who need assistance for Veterans Outreach Services and those needing access to their records, employment resumes and more. A fully equipped conference room is available which includes a 70” wireless television with full capabilities for presentations including sound equipment and two outreach computer stations. Twenty-four-hour emergency accommodations may be available for homeless veterans and those in crisis. We are unique in providing total access to Veterans services and a place to decompress and connect with fellow Veterans.

The Center staff can assist Veterans, Service members and their families in initial applications to apply for service-connected ratings, enroll in VA health care and much more through their partnered VSO with the Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs and the Disabled American Veterans. We have our own Chapter Service Officer who can help Veterans access their VA service-connected benefits for the first time and assist with enrollments. Employment services and a computer station is available Monday through Friday along with military to civilian transitional supports with a local DVOP and a former Veterans Employment Representative.

You can call (435) 213-9098 or email Veteranscenterfd@gmail.com to schedule your tour and/or begin your VA benefit services.
